The Regional Communications unit provides the means for NEMLEC and local leaders to manage all critical incidents and emergencies. The unit, staffed by police officers and dispatchers from eleven agencies, may be deployed to supplement NEMLEC unit response, or may be used by member police chiefs to support command operations in their jurisdictions. The unit is deployed in NEMLEC ‘s mobile command vehicle, which provides centralized command and communications capability for emergency and planned operations.
